Modern Slavery

Mitigating modern slavery risk in the corporate value chain

With the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) in operation, organisations doing business in Australia need to implement policies and procedures to address modern slavery risks and report to government if they meet the threshold requirement.

We partner with clients to develop compliance systems that address the legal, ethical, reputational and commercial issues associated with modern slavery, as well as complying with the legislation mandating modern slavery reporting.

Our partners can also advise on associated issues, such as anti-money laundering and anti-bribery and corruption compliance programs.

As a global firm, King & Wood Mallesons assists clients to move across regions and into new geographies to realise cross border opportunities and leverage capital flows. We have committed resources to support clients internationally to protect against supply chain risk and navigate the complexities of geo-political and modern slavery issues. Our Asia Pacific expertise uniquely positions KWM to provide expert advice in respect of supply chains heavily geared towards the region.
