Cindy specialises in asset management, insurance and regulatory related matters.
Cindy is experienced in the establishment of a diverse range of investment funds, including ETFs, SFC authorised funds, approved pooled investment funds, private equity funds, property funds, cross-border funds, open-ended fund companies (OFC), limited partnership funds (LPF), SPCs and hedge funds.
Cindy also has extensive experience working with Hong Kong regulators on fund registrations (with both the SFC and the MPFA), licensing applications (with the SFC, MPFA, HKMA and HKIA), ongoing compliance and general regulatory issues, as well as cross-border matters.
Cindy has acted on a number of first-to-market products, including the establishment of the first special purpose insurer (SPI) authorised by the HKIA to issue insurance linked securities (ILS) in Hong Kong, obtaining first batch approval of a public fund with the CSRC under the Hong Kong – Mainland mutual recognition of funds scheme, acting on one of the first Hong Kong OFCs and the first batch of Hong Kong LPFs.
Cindy has acted for numerous global, local and PRC-owned asset management and insurance houses. She is also an active member of the regulatory committee of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association and Committee Member of the Asia Pacific Chapter of Women in ETFs.
Cindy has been named in Asian Legal Business' (ALB) 2019 "40 under 40" list, which profiles 40 most accomplished lawyers in Asia under 40 years of age.
