Responsible Business

Responsible Business

Global and local challenges affect businesses, countries and communities and it is in everyone’s interest to address them. In fact, we see it as our responsibility as a leading top tier law firm to do precisely this, just like the companies we represent. We can apply our unique legal and commercial skills, our relationships and resources, to shape some of the big issues in our world by providing access to justice and access to opportunities.

The way we operate at King & Wood Mallesons reflects who we are, what we stand for and where we aspire to be. We provide the highest calibre services to our clients and we want to do so in a responsible and sustainable way. We are committed to running our business in an inclusive and diverse way, demonstrating excellence in every aspect of our business and creating a unique culture in which we value all our people, our clients and the world in which we operate. We are also firmly committed to long-lasting, significant and positive difference to the communities in which we live, work and operate by creating access to justice and access to opportunities.

In July 2018, King & Wood Mallesons proudly relaunched our pro bono & community program and under a new name, KWM Community Impact. Our program’s new name reflects our same commitment to the communities in which we live, work and operate, but with a renewed focus on what we are trying to achieve – sustained, long term and significant impact for those in need. KWM Community Impact represents our entire offering to the community and is comprised of three key streams – pro bono legal services, specialist & community services, and philanthropy. The singular objective of the program is to reduce inequality & poverty in Australia. Learn more about pro bono, specialist & community services or philanthropy at KWM.

During National Reconciliation Week in 2018, King & Wood Mallesons proudly launched and adopted our second Reconciliation Action Plan, known as an ‘Innovate’ RAP. Our new RAP has enabled us to refresh the way in which we collaborate, accelerate and drive our reconciliation efforts. Reflecting not only our commitment to reconciliation, but doing what we can to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations, this initiative is known as our Reconciliation & Empowerment Project (R&E). Diversity of thought, perspective and experience is critical to our business success and we are committed to achieving that diversity in several important ways.
