Lawyer of the Week: Christian Cornett

The Times (subscription required)

Christian Cornett, Frankfurt-based Corporate partner at King & Wood Mallesons, is featured as the ‘Lawyer of the week’ in The Times. The piece follows Christian’s work, alongside Beijing partner Xu Ping, in advising the Shanghai Stock Exchange on its China-Europe joint venture.

Christian shares his insight in a Q&A style discussion, describing some of the main challenges of the deal as well as answering questions on his career in Law.

When asked what would his career advice be, Christian said: “Trust thyself: every (client’s) heart vibrates to that iron string” — to paraphrase Ralph Waldo Emerson. Clients are at the heart of everything we do. They know we master the law but they like, and often need, advice beyond that."
