Claire advises both buy and sell-side entities in relation to their financial market arrangements including novel and complex derivative structures, structured products and structured capital markets transactions across various asset classes including bespoke repackaging structures. Claire also works regularly with clients advising on clearing systems, collateral, netting, securities lending, repos and prime brokerage.

Claire also advises clients on blockchain, smart contracts and other financial technology developments. 

Relevant Experience

  • Helping design and advising the World Bank and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia on the world leading “Bond-I” Blockchain bond
  • Assisting both domestic and international buy and sell-side clients negotiate futures, cleared OTC derivatives and uncleared OTC derivatives trading documentation, including bespoke structured products and bespoke derivative arrangements.
  • Advising on novel and complex collateralisation structures.
  • Acting for both sell and buy-side entities with respect to prime brokerage, repo, securities lending and complex derivatives documentation including exchange-traded, credit, equity, currency and interest rate-linked products.
  • Advising clients on the structuring of repackaging platforms and drafting and negotiating repackaging structure documentation and drawdowns.
  • Advising a range of domestic and international buy and sell-side clients on derivatives regulation including trade reporting, clearing and margining.
  • Structuring a number of synthetic and complex structures involving trusts, netting and margining structures for a number of clients.

Claire is a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales and New South Wales and brings extensive experience of derivatives markets having advised participants in the global derivatives market both before and through the GFC.
